Russia

Visting Russia on your own yacht is pretty difficult as foreign yachts are only allowed to visit ports in Russia which are listed on the visa or official invitation.

All foreign tourists and guests need a visa to visit Russian Federation. The visa is received beforehand either via Russian consulate or via the embassy of the inhabitancy country of the foreign citizen.

The following documents are required to apply for a visa: an official invitation from Russia, valid passport (plus printed copy of its first page), photos and the application form. An official invitation may be obtained from an accredited Russian Travel company (or a yacht club), as well as from a private person. You need to apply for a double entry business visa to visit e.g. both Kaliningrad and St.Petersburg or/and other Russian Ports.

Lately authorities in Moscow have agreed some relaxation and visiting yachts are now allowed to proceed to the Central River Yacht Club in St. Petersburg after clearing Customs and Immigration. The Central River yachtclub of St. Petersburg is the biggest yachtclub in Russia and offers the best facilities.

But Yachts are still not permitted to go to other marinas nor elsewhere.
