Steer Clear of this company!!!!

Do not waste your time or money chartering with this company!  They are dishonest and do not care about charterers or their lives!  The boat we chartered was not well maintained, the equipment was horribly sub-par, and we were sent out with a holed dinghy and frayed lines!!!

Barefoot should be avoided at all costs!!!  I have chartered with other companies and have been slightly disappointed with some.  Barefoot makes them look like the greatest charter companies on Earth, by comparison.

Some company has to be at the bottom and Barefoot goes out of its way to achieve this distinction!!!

Save yourself the heartache and headaches!  Steer clear of Barefoot!!!!!

Barefoot Yacht Charters in Saint Vincent: Bad People!

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

We recently chartered one of Barefoot’s yachts. These people are rude, unresponsive to problems that develop while underway, and just plain dishonest. On the 1st day, within 3 hours of taking delivery of the boat, a short ocurred in the windlass switch. This caused the motor to spontaneously turn on and discharge all the chain (100+ feet) while we swung wildly in a crowded harbor. Any experienced sailor can easily understand the danger of having a length of anchor chain unexpectedly discharge while at anchor or underway. We had a deflated dinghy and no appropriate pump adapter so we could not reinflate. The management at Barefoot Yachts provided no solutions. We had to correct these issues ourselves or just deal with them. When we returned at the end of the charter they lied and said the problems either didn’t exist or didn’t matter. They also chaarged me $400+ to replace a spinlock clutch that gave way while we were underway. A weathered and cracked clutch gives way and I get charged for a new one because??? I was the last one to touch it and, more importantly, they are holding my deposit hostage. STAY   AWAY!
