Today we hired a car for €30 – a lime green Fiat Panda.  We toured the island and stopped at Massouri on the north west coast for lunch.  The sea was rough and it was very windy as predicted.  Kalymnos is said to be the rock climbing capital of Europe due to its many sheer rock faces and crags.  We stopped and watched several climbers ascending a rock face – amazing. 

We also stopped off at Vladhiva on the south west end of the island to relax on the beach for an hour and have a swim.  It was then back to Portho Kalymnos where I dropped some washing off with Vassili from the Yacht Club (Lina had arranged this with him yesterday for us) before returning to the boat.

If ever you come to Kalymnos, please pay a visit to Lina (real name Thermalina) at the taverna “O Stukas” on the quay front – she will make you feel most welcome and will do all she can to help you – just ask her!

Today is my son James 27th birthday – Happy Birthday James !
