Claire and 12 month old George left behind to fly out when biscay is conquered!!!

crew complain about music still by dire straits!!!

queen mary 2 passes off our starboard quarter, identified on ais, superb!

arrival in camaret sur mer this morning for fresh mussels, muelles frittes! a couple of beers and oh to refuel before crossing biscay…

after call to ship via vhf with imminent gale force 8 weather forecast it begins!!!!

arrived in la coruna unintentionally after diverting here following gale force 8 in biscay. intended landfall supposed to have been portisin, ria muros, south of cape finnistere but not to be… after a 24 hour battle decided we could now steer la coruna and grab some sleep!

a quick recce to camarinas with the crew as now in cruising mode.. A meal of fresh fish sampled after recommendation from a local, but it must have been her brothers restaurant as it was very average….

intend to return to la coruna for crew change and await claire and george’s arrival tomorrow before high northerley winds halt progress.

back to la coruna to soak up the delights of the city including hercules light house, very close to our hearts as we had used it to navigate in from biscay. more beers and tenderloin sampled at varadero at real club nautico, superb….now await flights out for mike,albert and dave who return to the uk.

claire and george arrive into porto airport and skipper dan hires a car and collects them after 3 plus hour drive….

all back to Inspiration so that cruise proper can commence!!!
