April 05, 2011: Just in case you think I have stopped writing my blog, for those of you who don’t know already, I have started a new blog for this year entitled ‘Endeavours Adventures 2011’ which I started on my return to Turkey. Nothing much to write about though apart from the liveaboard life and community at Marmaris Yat Marina but this year we are daring to go to N. Cyprus, Sy... » read more

» read more

January 16, 2011: Puddles of light define the bays, looking more like fire and smoke than the weekend houses and favourite beaches of memory. The night sky is a heavy blanket of stars reaching from horizon to land, the stars that have been upside down for so long now ordered and correct in their places. I can see the blinking lighthouses off Pringle Bay and Cape Point which remind me of all the others that have ... » read more

November 15, 2011: The Turkish people are celebrating ‘Bayrum’ and have a public holiday from 5th November to 9th November. The boat yard has been at a standstill till Thursday when they returned to work. On Monday, Mr. Bilgin the owner of the marina put on a free lunch ‘celebration of the sacraficial feast’ in the workers canteen for everybody. On Thursday morning at 9.0... » read more

June 06, 2011: Being so close by we had a day out visiting Port Isaac, famous for being the setting for Doc Martin and the Poldark series amongst others. It is a tiny but charming place with tight streets, quaint shops and tea rooms along with the craggy tiny harbour. I love these unspoilt harbours that have not changed over the centuries and there is the scent of an age gone by still lingering. T... » read more

January 26, 2012: On our first morning in Penang, we woke early in the quiet cove where we’d anchored the previous day, at a little islet just south of the big island of Penang. We lingered over coffee as we waited for the tide to turn and give us a fair current.xWhen we got underway, we motored north, with the mainland industrial town of Butterworth on our starboard side, and the high-rises and businesses... » read more

November 22, 2010: We spent a week at Low Isles, had some beautiful weather and some not so beautiful weather. We spent the good days having a dive, snorkeling, people watching the day trippers on the several tour boats that came out every day or just walking around the island looking for interesting things. During the week we were there we caught up with some friends that we had met at other destinat... » read more
